Role Overview:
We are seeking an IT Support Analyst with a mission to provide comprehensive IT support to the Sunderland JIT and FOAM facilities, ensuring compliance with local and corporate requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver prompt 1st / 2nd line technical support for production and office users in both Sunderland Plants, conducting thorough problem analysis and rectification.
- Ensure uptime of critical and non-critical IT systems by performing daily checks on virtual environments and networks to minimize production downtime.
- Upgrade and optimize hardware/software to meet user requirements, enhance productivity, and maintain system stability.
- Monitor and resolve LAN/WAN issues to ensure seamless communication performance.
- Maintain documentation and procedures to facilitate seamless operations and preserve a valuable knowledge base.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities, including contractual maintenance for essential equipment to minimize downtime.
- Proactively address data flow issues on a shift-by-shift basis to ensure uninterrupted IT operations.
- Manage an adequate inventory of IT consumables to support the daily functioning of all IT equipment.
- Oversee the maintenance of telephone and mail systems for efficient communication within the organization.
- Provide support for the current Nagios implementation across the sites, ensuring devices are up-to-date.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in IT Support, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, capable of working alone or in a team.
- Willingness to provide On-call support as part of a Rota.
- MCITP/MCTS SQL 2016 (or above) and MCSE/MCP Windows 2016 (or above) certifications preferred.
- Proficient in handling hardware such as Dell Servers, Cisco wired and wireless infrastructures, and Dell/Lenovo Workstations & Laptops.
- Software expertise in Windows Server 2016/2019, Windows 10 Workstations & MS Office 365, Microsoft SQL 2016/2019, Nagios, and Avamar cloud backup software.
- Experience with Cisco networking, including Switches and Wireless Access points configuration.
- Familiarity with structured cabling systems, category 5 Ethernet, and fiber.
- Effective communication skills, even under pressure.
